2015-16 Classroom Requests

Due to all of the evolving dynamics of creating the master schedule and placing students in to grade level classrooms for next year, we will no longer be accepting specific teacher requests in the future.  We will still accept and consider letters until May 27th from parents, describing the best type of teaching environment, style, personality that they feel will help their child be successful.  Please note that there are no guarantees for placement, other than 5th grade in which students will be taught by all of the teachers due to departmentalization.

Code Red Drill 5/21/15

Geneva Parents...today the Sheriff Department conducted an unannounced Code Red Drill on our campus.  The staff & students did an excellent job with following protocol & procedures.  Afterwards, Administration & the Sheriff Department debriefed on our campus drill results & discussed additional strategies to further keep our students & campus safe.

Afternoon Car Ramp Update!

Mustang Parents, the SCPS Transportation Department, Safety Division, came out on May 6, 2015, to conduct an assessment of the roads and traffic issues during our afternoon dismissal.   We were not aware yesterday that this would be occurring until dismissal began, but we of course understood the need to cooperate.  We apologize for the confusion and lack of notice, but their overall goal is to improve the conditions of the afternoon backup traffic in the future.
I have been informed that this same Team will be out on our ramp in the afternoons for the remainder of this week only, trying this new route out by the tennis court.
I have expressed my concerns with the condition of this "pathway" that they are using, so if this is a concern you have for your vehicle, then I would encourage coming for pickup a little later when the traffic slows down and being able to use the original ramp entrance.
The district's goal would then be to bring their proposal to the School Board for approval.  If approved, they have stated the work would be done over the summer to finalize the change in the car ramp route for the 2015-2016 school year.  This would involve paving the new pathway route (next to the tennis court), installing new gates in front of the original entrance, and creating a new entrance to the ramp a few feet before where the current exit driveway area is.

Thank you for your patience and understanding of this process. We will keep you in the loop as we get more updates.
